1. Support with study regulation questions ^ top
Various advisory services are available to support students in the best possible way. These services aim to provide orientation, help with decision making and give confidence in dealing with the requirements of the degree programme. The goal is that students can find the right contact persons – whether for questions about study regulations, planning their course of study, or personal matters that affect their studies.
1.1 Study laws and regulations ^ top
The General Study and Examination Regulations in their latest version are published on the website of FH Kufstein Tirol. They are publicly accessible and can also be found through a simple web search.
The Fachhochschule Studies Act (FHG) applies as the legal basis for all universities of applied sciences in Austria. This act regulates the framework of the UAS sector and, together with the respective study and examination regulations, forms the binding foundation for academic operations.

Important note:
- StudyReg Helper is only a supportive information service.
- It is advised not to enter personal or sensitive data.
- The answers are based on automated processing of the study regulations and may contain errors or misinterpretations.
- The chatbot does not replace the binding decisions of the degree programme director.
- For legally binding information, the official study regulations always apply.
- In case of uncertainty or important decisions, consultation with the degree programme director is essential.
1.3 Degree Programme Director ^ top
The degree programme director is responsible for all questions related to study regulations. This includes matters covered by the General Study and Examination Regulations as well as the relevant legal provisions. In this area, the programme director has a dual role:
- On the one hand, they provide advice and help students to understand their rights and obligations in their studies.
- On the other hand, they are explicitly authorised by law to make binding decisions in study regulation matters.
The advice provided by the programme director is always student oriented. This means that they strive to find the best possible solution for each situation in the interest of the students – naturally within the legal framework. The goal is to ensure transparent, fair and legally sound handling of all study regulation matters. Students can therefore approach the programme director with their questions, uncertainties or applications in confidence. The programme director ensures that decisions are communicated in a clear way and that students receive professional guidance to support and protect their individual study path.
1.4 Austrian National Union of Students (ÖH) ^ top
The Austrian National Union of Students - Österreichische Hochschüler_innenschaft (ÖH) - represents all students and offers independent advice. Students can always contact the ÖH with study regulation questions. The service is confidential, free of charge and independent of decisions by the university. The ÖH helps students to better understand their rights and obligations, provides information on possible options for action and offers guidance in difficult situations.
2. Programme Specific Documents ^ top
This page contains only programme specific documents for the study fields of Energy and Sustainability Management as well as Facility Management and Real Estate.
All official documents, forms and regulations are centrally available on the student portal of FH Kufstein Tirol.
Please use the portal for general applications, examination regulations or cross programme documents. There you will always find the latest version.
2.1 Application for Change of Organisational Form ^ top
A change of organisational form from full time to part time or vice versa is only possible in clearly justified hardship cases. Furthermore, the previous content and scope must be equivalent. The change of organisational form is only possible before the next semester at its beginning.
Deadlines are 15 January and 14 August.
An exception applies to the semester abroad: After the allocation of exchange places (usually early January, two semesters before the semester abroad), a change is only possible in the hardship cases defined in the study regulations (ASPO) and without exception. To change the organisational form startin in the 3rd semester you have to apply for not later than end of December in the 1st semester.
Before submitting the application, a compulsory personal meeting with the programme director or their deputy is required.
The application is formal but informal in structure and must include:
- Degree programme
- Current organisational form
- Future organisational form
- Start date of the intended change
- Clear justification in your own words
The application must be personally signed and then submitted as a PDF to the Study Support and the programme director.
For support, a Word template is available for download here
2.2 Application for Leave of Absence ^ top
A leave of absence can be applied for in justified exceptional cases. The General Study and Examination Regulations list example reasons. A leave of absence puts studies on hold for one year without losing admission or already achieved examination results. The application can be submitted at any time, even during an ongoing semester. All successfully completed examinations remain valid and are "frozen". Re entry takes place one year later. Modules not yet completed must then be attended again and passed with the current assessment criteria. The number of remaining exam attempts corresponds to the status before the leave of absence. This means that an unsuccessful assessment in the first resit (= second attempt) will still require a board examination (= third attempt) after the leave.
Before submitting the application, a compulsory personal meeting with the programme director or their deputy is required.
The application is formal but informal in structure and must include:
- Degree programme
- Current year and semester
- Start of the leave of absence
- Clear justification in your own words
The application must be personally signed and then submitted as a PDF to the Study Support and the programme director.

2.3 Application for Repetition of the Academic Year ^ top
A repetition of the academic year is possible but may only be applied for once during the entire study programme. The aim of this regulation is to give students the chance to secure their academic success without losing their admission.
The application can be submitted particularly when exceptional circumstances have prevented the successful completion of the academic year. Already passed examinations remain valid and do not have to be repeated. Modules not yet passed must be taken again and passed with the current assessment criteria.
Before submitting the application, a compulsory personal meeting with the programme director or their deputy is required.
The application is formal but informal in structure and must include:
- Degree programme
- Current year and semester
- Justification of the application in your own words
The application must be personally signed and then submitted as a PDF to the Study Support and the programme director.
